All Gods are One God
These are my personal beliefs. I believe that all paths are valid and that we all revere the same force. I have studied many different religions over the years, some only a bit and some extensively and there are basic threads that run through all of them. Love, acceptance, tolerance, doing good for others – these are a few examples. So many people say that their way is the only way to God, but I don’t believe that God is that narrow minded. I think that God manifests to each individual in a way that works best for that person. For some, that may be a polytheistic path, for others a monotheistic path. Personally, I accept the duality of the God and the Goddess. All of nature shows us that everything has an opposite – good/bad, right/wrong, up/down, front/back and every child has two parents. It is only logical to believe that about the divine essence that supports us as well. I also believe that everything we need is here on this earth in the form of plants, herbs, etc. So many diseases a hundred years ago were a death sentence or left one to a life of disability and we have virtually wiped them out. Even as recently as 50 years ago, Tuberculosis was a death sentence – now, it is not only curable but preventable if we know that exposure has occurred.
To me, this is a good example of how much more we know now than we used to. I look at spirituality the same way. During the witch trials, a lot of the accused were simply herbalists and/or midwives. They were persecuted because their practices were not understood. Because people did not understand it they were afraid of it. Now we know that the same herbs and concoctions that they were using were valuable. Many of them are now standard treatments for various diseases. Who’s to say that because someone practices a certain path, they are wrong – maybe it’s just something we don’t yet understand fully.
